It was a 1980 (i'm pretty sure) BMW 320i. It had at least 130,000 miles on it, and when you went above 60 the engine got so loud that you couldn't even have a conversation in the car, this also caused me to miss key portions of All Things Considered on NPR most evenings. I never trusted it enough to go on a long road trip, so the furthest drive was from Dallas to Stillwater, Ok. It had this funny beige carpet interior that had dogs laying on it for most of it's life, but strangely the dog smell was just a whisper. This was the third to last vintage BMW I drove, they all held up pretty well until 200,000 miles (that doesn't happen with american cars, with the exception of diesel trucks). I'm glad I went with my current choice, which is a Subaru, however if I ever make enough disposable income I will purchase a late 90's 840i.
